February “National Heart Month”

Go red for Women National Heart Month
According to the American Heart Association (AHA), while heart disease and stroke kill one in every 3.7 men, one in 2.4 women lose their lives to heart disease and stroke – the no. 1 and no. 3 killers of women. By way of comparison, breast cancer kills one in 29 women.

Victory Get Fit Club will be promoting National Heart Month with a series of “Go Red for Women” workouts every Saturday. The “Go Red for Women” campaign uses the color red and the red dress as a symbol of the ability all women have to improve their heart health and live stronger, longer lives. We, “VGFC” will be offering FREE wellness programs during this campaign by administering a FREE 1hr workout followed by two free 30 minute express classes every Saturday of February. This program is designed to be simple, fast and fun.

We will also have Dr. Ellington, a stroke survivor and spokeswomen for the “Go Red for Women” campaign, as a guest speaker at a “Professional Women of Color” event, in our new location on Thursday February 13th. Our intent is to create awareness around to heart disease and stroke, and educate women so that they can lead longer, healthier lives.

Our Mission: Give hope & empower women to live Victoriously in a community of health, confidence, beauty, and joy.
